SoftDicom is a personal DICOM case library that ships on an encrypted portable SSD. It is built for the individual doctor who wants their own interesting cases in one place — the difficult ones, the rare ones, the ones worth teaching from — instead of scattered across burned CDs, hospital workstations and unlabelled laptop folders.
Receive studies directly from Console or Import from a CD, a DVD, a USB drive or a folder. Each case is stored with its patient, study and series structure intact, so a study imported two years ago opens exactly as it was. Search and browse the library by patient, modality, date or your own labels.
The viewer runs straight from the drive. There is nothing to install and no administrator rights are needed, so it opens on a conference laptop, a borrowed machine or a home PC just as it does on your own. Windows, macOS and Linux are supported from the same drive.
It handles the modalities a case library actually collects: Cath, CT, MR, X-ray, ultrasound, angiography, nuclear medicine and multi-frame cine loops. Standard viewing tools are included — window/level, zoom, pan, measurement, cine playback, and side-by-side comparison of two studies.
Cases can be exported back out as DICOM for a colleague, or as JPEG, PNG or MP4 for a slide deck, a paper or a teaching file.
The drive is hardware-encrypted, so the library stays protected when it leaves the desk. A one-time purchase includes the device and a perpetual licence — there is no subscription, no cloud account and no per-study charge.
