SnaPanda

SnaPanda enables a user to easily capture any written English word in front of them. This first version is Android-based and benefits from OCR technology as well as our homemade programming sauce.

With a simple touch on the tactile screen, a selected word is relayed to a server which then returns its definition.

Later a user can revisit words they have captured, or create personalized lists to retain vocabulary they deem most useful.

With SnaPanda, we’re keeping in mind our open-source roots, as well as community-based learning. We’re actively developing an internet community to exchange SnaPanda lists, and promoting the creation of downloadable theme-based vocabulary lists as well.
