What is SMath Studio?
SMath Studio - is a math program with 'paper'-like interface and numerous computing features. It has an ability to work with systems, matrices, vectors, complex numbers, infinities and fractions. SMath Studio supports 18-th interface languages, has versions for Windows, Windows Mobile (PPC, communicators and Smartphones) and Linux. It also includes integrated mathematical reference book.

I work for an engineering firm and we only used mathCAD for simple calculus, not for all the crazy math it can do. So when we found out we would have to shell out $1200 for a new license we thought we should try and find something else. SMath Studio is great because it can open all the mathcad files we already put work into! Plus it was free!!! Though I am suggesting to the boss that we give them a nice donation.
Smath is a lifesaver program. You can calculate anything as if you are writing on a paper. It is 'the one' alternative to Mathcad. Huge thanks to Andrey Ivashov and Roman Strylets.
Very lightweight, similar to Mathcad that i'm used to, and works! Mathcad has bugs.
SMath is not discontinued...
It can be normally downloaded from its Website.
