Slop Mop is a browser extension, free for one feed, that helps people identify and reduce low-value writing and AI slop in their feeds. It evaluates posts before they reach your view, explains the signs behind its judgment, and lets you hide, highlight, reveal or override suspected slop. It is not an AI-content detector. It judges the writing, not who, or what, wrote it.
As you scroll, Slop Mop reads posts ahead and asks an AI model designed for calibrated decisions a range of questions about each one in parallel. Nine examine tells associated with slop. Two counter-signals look for evidence that the post sounds like a person or contains useful information for readers, and one asks how likely it is to be human-typed. Reader response, counted from reactions, comments and reposts, is a third counter-signal. The results are combined into a slop score out of 100.
You choose your own sensitivity, and you choose one of two modes. Hide folds suspected slop into a compact strip without deleting or blocking the original post. Highlight keeps the post visible and tints its mop icon yellow or red, with the reasons one click away.
You can inspect Slop Mop's reasoning and vote Not sure, No, Maybe or Probably when you disagree with a judgment. Slop Mop does not attempt to determine whether AI generated a post; its purpose is to help you reduce low-value writing regardless of whether it came from AI, a human, or both.
