What is Slitheris?

Slitheris Network Discovery is an IP scanner for Windows, designed for extensive network exploration. It provides free scanning for up to 50 network devices, suitable for home users, small networks, and educational settings. The software can scan beyond the initial 50 devices, without a trial license. It extracts data from network devices without credentials or agents and eliminates the need to adjust settings on remote devices.

The software uses a unique device type identification feature, which estimates the device type based on attributes collected during the scan. It also estimates the age of network devices using only a MAC address.

Additional features include enhanced device name identification, SMB security, detection of unpingable devices, easy web GUI access, and a portable mode. The software identifies device names from multiple sources and provides vulnerability status without needing credentials. It detects 'stealth' devices unresponsive to pings using the ARP Cache, and offers access to devices with web GUIs. The portable mode allows users to create a mobile version of the software for use from any PC with a local administrator account.
