What is SkyTube?
SkyTube is an app that lets you watch YouTube videos on your Android device without ads, sign-in, or Google services. It has some features that the official YouTube app does not have.
Such as:
- Video blocker: You can block videos or channels based on various criteria, such as language, views, or dislikes.
- Video downloader: You can download videos for offline viewing or background playback.
- Video bookmarks: You can bookmark videos for later watching or resume from where you left off.
- Video swipe controls: You can adjust the volume, brightness, comments, or description by swiping on the screen.
- Channel subscriptions: You can subscribe to channels and get notifications without a YouTube account.
- SponsorBlock: You can skip sponsored segments in videos.
SkyTube is a copylefted libre / open source software licensed under GPL-3.0. You can download it from its website or from F-Droid. You can also contribute to its development or translation on GitHub or Weblate.

I use SkyTube on my LineageOS phone, and it works perfectly for people who don't want to have a Google account, but still wish to keep up with their video subscriptions. It allows 'subscribing to' or 'bookmarking' channels for later viewing, shows when new videos have been added to those channels, allows you to download videos for offline viewing, etc. Even better, it's free and open-source, and available on F-Droid!
Not as useful as NewPiped where you can reproduce the similar videos automatically. At least, I did not see the option here. I like that you can hide tabs as popular or trending, though. Not using that one.
He has aggressive updates. Versions 2.28 and older have stopped playing videos.
