What is SimplyShot?

SimplyShot is a screenshot and screen recording app for Mac that brings capture, annotation, and video editing into one app.

Capture an area, window, full screen, or scrolling page. Add arrows, text, shapes, highlights, and spotlights, or style screenshots with backgrounds, padding, and shadows. Copy text using on-device OCR and detect sensitive information locally, then choose what to redact.

Record your screen with system audio, microphone audio, and a camera bubble. Show clicks and keystrokes, and export recordings as video or GIF.

Open recordings in Studio to edit automatic zoom suggestions, cut sections, add backgrounds, and create captions on your Mac. Edit caption text and export an SRT file alongside your video.

Keep captures in a searchable local history, pin screenshots above other windows, and save editable projects. Share through the macOS Share menu or upload to your own S3-compatible storage, including Amazon S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, and DigitalOcean Spaces.
