What is SideReplay?

SideReplay is a Manifest V3 Chrome extension for recording and replaying browser tests. It was made for teams that still have tests saved in the Selenium IDE (.side) format after Selenium IDE could no longer be installed from the Chrome Web Store.

It opens .side files from Selenium IDE 3.x and 4.x and runs all 93 Selenium IDE commands, including control flow (if, while, times, forEach), alerts and prompts, iframes, new windows and executeScript. New tests can be recorded in the side panel.

When a page changes and a locator stops working, SideReplay tries the other locators saved during recording, shows which one worked and can update the test.

Recording, playback and locator healing are free. A Pro subscription adds export of whole projects to Playwright Test (TypeScript) and HTML run reports. Tests are stored only in the browser; no account is needed.
