What is Shutter - Camera Remote Control?

Shutter allows you to take full remote control of your camera wirelessly or via USB. The app goes beyond what a standard remote can do, giving you even more control of your camera from your device. The app is available for Canon, Sony and FujiFilm cameras.

Not only can you focus and trigger the shutter from it, but you can also fully adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance and even set the Bulb timer. As well as a self timer, it has an intervalometer which is ideal for setting up timelapses and for astrophotography. The self timer also gives you more than the in camera one, so you can set an initial delay as long as you want, and not be stuck with the 10s your camera gives you.

The live preview can also be viewed larger by turning the phone into landscape mode (even better on an iPad), and you can use the many different aspect ratios to help visualise your final composition. It features a histogram, grid overlays, false colour and zebra stripes too.

The app is designed to work with iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, therefore you are not just limited to your phone. If you want to get a larger live view through your camera, or browse through all photos you have taken, you can use it on your iPad. All photos taken can be previewed on your device and even transferred to it over WiFi or USB.
