What is SereneReader?
SereneReader is a modern RSS/feed reader built as a direct response to the bloated, popup-riddled experience of Feedly and similar services. It's designed around one idea: reading should feel like a quiet room, not a busy marketplace.
Key features:
- Focus Mode — a single keystroke fades the chrome away, dims the background to pure black, and leaves only the article. The core differentiator of the app.
- Terminal-inspired, dense UI — full-screen edge-to-edge content, thin 1px borders, sharp corners, and minimal padding. Optimized for power users who tile their browser at ~1100px wide alongside other tools.
- Jade Night theme — a calming dark theme with jade green accents, easy on the eyes for long reading sessions. Additional themes (Polar Frost, Violet Dusk, etc.) available on Pro.
- Full-text search included on every plan, including Free.
- Keyboard-first navigation (j/k, n/p, f for focus, b for sidebar, etc.).
- OPML import/export, folder organization, star and read-later queue.
- Shared feeds and folders for small teams on the Team plan.
- Public REST API with bearer-token auth on Pro and Team.
- No ads, no tracking, no dark patterns — and explicitly no tooltips on every button, no "Upgrade to Pro" banners in the UI, no gamification, and no auto-playing media.
Free tier includes 150 feeds, 90-day article history, focus mode, full-text search, OPML, keyboard navigation, and the Jade Night theme — with no time-limited trial and no device caps.
