Secret Shred

Send passwords, keys, or notes in links encrypted in the browser with AES-256-GCM. The decryption key stays in the URL fragment, so the server stores ciphertext only. Choose 1–5 views and expiry options; secrets are deleted after revealing or expiry, without an account.

What is Secret Shred?

Secret Shred is a platform for secure transmission of sensitive data like passwords and keys, eliminating risks of traditional methods. Users enter their confidential data on the site, which is then encrypted within the user's browser before transmission. The decryption key is in the link's '#', which is not sent to the server. Hence, Secret Shred only stores the encrypted data and cannot access the original information.

The user shares the generated link. The recipient can view the secret by clicking 'Reveal'. The sender can allow between 1 and 5 views of the secret, which can be set to remain until accessed or expire after 1 hour, 1 day, or 7 days. Unopened secrets are deleted after 30 days, and secrets are also deleted once their views are used up.

Secret Shred doesn't require user accounts and limits the secret size to 32 KB. Only clicking 'Reveal' counts as a view, not merely opening the page.
