Screenshot AI is a macOS app for finding photos and screenshots across multiple folders using natural-language descriptions.
Instead of relying only on filenames, tags, metadata, or OCR text, you can describe what you remember seeing in an image — for example, “the person holding an award while someone applauds” or “the guy trying on a white VR headset” — and find matching images directly.
Screenshot AI searches ordinary folders on your Mac, so you don’t need to import or reorganize your image library first. It works across multiple user-selected folders and has been tested with libraries containing tens of thousands of files.
Key features:
Semantic image search based on visual content
Search across multiple folders
OCR for text inside images
Chat and questions about indexed images
Support for large photo and screenshot libraries
You choose exactly which folders are indexed.
Image analysis is not fully on-device. Images selected for indexing are sent to the backend for processing, but the image files themselves are not stored on the backend after processing.
Screenshot AI includes a free tier with 3 searches per day and 500 image indexings per month. Paid plans start at $5.99/month, with annual plans also available.
