Scenarist Screenwriting

Scenarist is a screenwriting app designed for iPhone and iPad, which is built around the industry-standard screenplay formatting. It automatically formats scene headings, action, character, dialogue, parenthetical, and transition elements. The app uses Courier 12pt for pagination, ensuring page counts follow the standard one-page-per-minute convention.

The app operates on an offline-first basis, with local storage and an optional iCloud sync across devices. It does not require an account or server dependency.

The free version of the app offers full screenplay formatting for up to 3 scripts, Fountain import and export, PDF export (with a small Scenarist credit line on each page), iCloud sync, outline and scene navigator, find and replace, focus mode, dual dialogue, templates, dictation, read aloud, and a 30-day Recently Deleted bin.

The Pro version adds unlimited scripts, PDF export without the credit line, Final Draft (.fdx) export, revision tracking, script statistics, character reports, table read with a separate voice for each character, teleprompter mode, full voice-to-script dictation, script validation, title page editor, index cards, paginated script preview, and markers.

Pro is available for purchase monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
