The software alerts users when a scanner exceeds a certain number of listeners, a specific scanner surpasses a listener count, a Broadcastify alert is issued for bookmarked or any scanner, a nearby scanner, or a new scanner comes online in the user's vicinity. Users can activate notifications to receive alerts when a scanner exceeds 2000 listeners. Audio content on Scanner Radio is supplied by volunteers, police and fire departments, through Broadcastify.com and other websites that use real scanner radios.
