Sandtime.io

Sandtime.io is a time tracking and timesheet app for freelancers, consultants, agencies and small client-service teams that bill or report against time. It is free for unlimited users, with no seat charge, no feature gates and no credit card required.

Time is logged with a one-click start and stop timer, or entered manually on a weekly timesheet grid. Timers run in the browser, in desktop apps for Windows and macOS, on iPhone and Android, from a Chrome extension, or through a Slack slash command.

Where Sandtime.io differs from most trackers is that it closes the timesheet loop rather than just recording time. It sends fill-timesheet reminders automatically through the dashboard, by email and as an in-app popup. Managers approve or reject submitted timesheets in one click, directly from the notification email. Past periods lock on their own, with temporary unlocking available on request, and every approval, lock and unlock is timestamped.

Tracked time becomes client-ready reports, cost and revenue breakdowns and project profitability views, exportable to Excel or CSV in a form ready to bill from. Multiple currencies are supported per organization and project, and rate changes preserve history so reports covering earlier periods use the rate that applied at the time. Overlap detection flags impossible entries before they reach an invoice.

There is no surveillance layer. Sandtime.io has no screenshots, no keystroke logging, no activity scoring, no automatic application or window tracking and no location tracking, on any plan. Hours are self-reported declarations, which is what makes the records something a team will stand behind.

Other features include project management with clients and billable classification, role-based access control, per-project visibility, time rounding, expected working hours, separate organizations within one account, a custom subdomain, a public API and an MCP server for AI assistants.

Sandtime.io is built by Sanddev, a software agency in Wroclaw, Poland, which uses it for its own client billing. Production servers run on infrastructure in the European Union.
