What is Samsung Reminder?

Reminder is a smart notifications app that lets you easily add to-dos and send notifications for them in advance based on the user’s time, place, or situation.

  1. Receive notifications anytime, anywhere

Reminder provides many time-based conditions for notifications, such as date, day, and time, as well as various repeat options.

Reminder can notify you when you arrive at or leave a specific location. If you have something to buy at the supermarket, create a location-based reminder.

When creating a location-based reminder, you can set it to notify you only during specified hours.

If you want notifications that tell you when to get off the bus on your way home from work, create a reminder and set it to notify you upon arrival at the relevant stop only between 5 p.m. and 12 a.m., which is when you usually leave work.

To receive location-based notifications, turn on your device’s location settings.

  1. Different ways to create reminders

First, create a reminder by tapping the plus (+) button after launching the Reminder app.

Second, create a reminder with your voice by pressing and holding the Bixby button. For example, if you say “Remind me to buy milk today at 2 p.m.,” you can create a reminder that triggers a notification at 2 p.m.

Third, tap the Share button in any app and select Reminder to create a reminder with attached text, images, links, etc. For example, if you find something online you want to be notified about, tap Share and select Reminder; the link will be saved in Reminder.

Fourth, you can use certain Samsung apps, such as Messages and Video, to create reminders with the “Add to Reminder” button.

To create a reminder with the Bixby voice command, you must sign in to your Samsung account and be connected to a network.

Apps supported by Reminder are subject to change.

  1. Different ways to check reminders

Reminders you’ve already created can also be viewed through Calendar, Edge panels, and widgets.

In Calendar, only reminders with time-based notification conditions can be viewed; Android 9 or later is required to view reminders in Calendar.

  1. Tips for using Reminder

Long-press coupons you’ve received via text message to add them to Reminder, and use them when you arrive at the supermarket, café, hair salon, etc.

Remember where you parked with Bixby Voice. Save your parking location by saying “Remind me I parked on the third floor.” If you need to recall where you parked, just say “Tell me where I parked.”
