What is Saidwire?

Saidwire is a real-time speech-to-text API for voice agents, phone lines, live captions, and broadcasts. It transcribes live English speech through streaming APIs, returning interim words during speech and corrected, punctuated final transcripts. Final results include an end-of-turn signal and are returned 35 ms median and 46 ms p95 after a Finalize request, measured in US East and excluding network round-trip time.

The API supports 8 kHz μ-law and A-law audio, plus linear PCM up to 48 kHz. It accepts WAV, MP3, FLAC, Ogg, and WebM recordings up to 60 minutes long. Saidwire can be used with existing Deepgram or OpenAI transcription code by changing the URL, and integrates with Pipecat, LiveKit, Vercel AI SDK, n8n, and Claude/Cursor through MCP.
