What is RuForge?

RuForge is a free, open-source Windows app built on yt-dlp and Tauri. Paste a YouTube or YouTube Music link and it downloads the video, audio or whole playlist into folders on your own drive, then plays it offline.

Downloads: a queue with up to 6 downloads at once, pause and resume that continues from the partial file, audio-only in m4a, mp3 or opus, quality presets, optional subtitles, and automatic retries for failed playlist tracks. yt-dlp, FFmpeg and FFprobe come bundled, and RuForge checks for a new yt-dlp each time it opens so you can update it in one click.

Library and player: videos, music, playlists and channels in one library with a storage limit and a Recently Deleted bin. The video player has chapters, seek bar previews, subtitles, saved comments, resume where you left off, and SponsorBlock skipping at playback, so the file stays whole.

Music mode: a separate player for your downloaded audio with artist, album and track pages, liked songs, your own playlists, listening stats, smart shuffle, and synced lyrics from LRCLIB that highlight line by line.

No accounts, no ads, no usage stats. The app updates itself.
