What is Roue Libre?

Roue Libre is a bike-share station map and journey planner that combines walking and cycling. It supports nearly 300 bike-share networks in around 30 countries that publish station data through GBFS, including networks in Paris, New York, Prague, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Tokyo and Buenos Aires.

The app stores multiple cities independently, without requiring a default city, and lets users remove each city's data separately. Its journey planner selects departure and arrival stations as a pair, accounting for the possibility that stations with few available bikes may be empty on arrival. Real-time bike and dock availability requires a network connection, while maps, address search and routing work offline.

Maps, routing graphs and address indexes are downloaded separately for each city, with download sizes shown in advance. Offline datasets are available for a limited number of cities, and scripts in the source repository can build datasets for others. Roue Libre is available in 31 languages and is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU GPL v3.
