What is Rerouter?
Rerouter is a super simple Safari Extension that opens Google Maps links in iOS's default Maps app. Automatically and privately.
Why use Rerouter? There aren't many things more frustrating than tapping on an address and being sent to a website instead of the Maps app. If you don't have Google Maps installed, a lot of the internet can be like that. Rerouter solves that problem by opening all of those pesky links right where you'd want them to—in Maps.
Set-up is easy thanks to the step-by-step instructions (with pictures!) located right within the app.
Not only is Rerouter incredibly convenient, it is also totally private. Rerouter contains no trackers/loggers/etc. and never will. All link rerouting happens on your device, and the extension never communications with a server. In fact, for those more tech-savvy users, you can even browse the code yourself!
Note, Rerouter may not work when installed alongside the Google Maps app.
Rerouter offers the opportunity to leave me a tip via in-app purchase. While that would be very kind, please note that it doesn't unlock any additional features. Rerouter is totally free to use and enjoy.
