What is Repowise?
Repowise is an open-source, self-hostable codebase intelligence platform for developers, engineering teams, and AI coding agents. It indexes code structure, dependencies, Git history, documentation, architectural decisions, and engineering signals into a shared, continuously updated model of a repository.
Developers can explore dependency and knowledge graphs, code-health scores, ranked refactoring plans, hotspots, ownership, hidden coupling, change risk, AI-code provenance, and reachability-aware security findings. Repowise also generates a navigable codebase wiki linked to the underlying files and symbols.
Ten MCP tools provide verified repository context to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other MCP-compatible agents, helping them find relevant files, understand dependencies, and answer codebase questions without repeatedly searching through the repository.
Repowise is available as a hosted service or can run locally and inside private infrastructure. The core engine is licensed under AGPL-3.0, with commercial licensing, on-premises, private-cloud, and air-gapped deployment options available for organizations.
