- DZ-Aladan reviewed Razer Synapse
I've been using Razer Synapse 3 and it was overall acceptable, if not from time to time it would ask me to log, sometimes once per day. Annoying, but bearable.
Synapse 4, however, manages to be absolutely atrocious, at least on my end, with just a couple of, but severely detrimental, issues.
At first, there was only one that thankfully went away... somehow, because I'm sure I didn't update: after startup, it would stop working until I resolved a conflict between the locally saved profile and...

It does what I want it to, which is allows me to manage my Razer mouse & keyboard. I can configure the LEDs however I want in the Chroma Studio, and I like that the Chroma Connect feature allows certain applications to control my LEDs for a more interactive experience.
It does take up more of my system usage than I'd like, but it doesn't interfere with performance for me. If it does for you, I sugguest upgrading your hardware. It ran just fine on my laptop that is slower than crap.
Oops, I made a typo. I meant to say that I recently switched to the New Razer Synapse. It runs much better than Razer Synapse 3 for me.
Absolutely terrible. It utterly litters your system from end-to-end, installing literally TEN different drivers and services.
It stops working randomly. Sometimes the UI simply freezes.
It wants to maintain a 24/7 connection to a wide array of Razer servers--the sheer number of processes connecting out and the number of hosts is staggering.
It logs constantly. There are 18 log directories, each with several logs being written to 24/7.
And no, you won't get support when you need it.
Total, absolute garbage. Steer clear.

At first, there was only one that thankfully went away... somehow, because I'm sure I didn't update: after startup, it would stop working until I resolved a conflict between the locally saved profile and the cloud profile. The issue is that it's a giant popup taking the whole window instead of, I don't know, simply load the local profile and give me a small a notification/warning in a corner.
But the second issue is the one that really made me lose my patience: it began overwriting profiles with others. For example, I have a profile for Desktop and one for Clip Studio Paint, set to automatically switch whenever I click on or off the software window. Well, Synapse has began interpreting one of those switches as "overwrite the CSP key bindings with the Desktop ones", sometimes vice-versa.
The result? I have to waste precious time into solving this self-caused problem that I could've invested into actually doing stuff.
Outright doesn't work on Mac.
Both Mac & Windows versions patch your device's firmware regardless of user intent, forcing user to use most recent version of Synapse, which is almost invariably broken.
Genuine trashware, no effort whatsoever 0/10
It works well on Windows but it doesn't seem to work at all on the latest version of Mac.
