SnappyMail began its life as a fork of Rainloop because of the lack of communication from the dev team behind the project. Namely, after a critical security breach was found in late 2021, users waited for an official patch that secretly released in june 2022 without any talk on the subject. SnappyMail tries to change that, by adding features not present in its predecessor and solving issues that went unadressed before.
