Quirkos stands out for its playful UI and its customer-friendly pricing and licensing. The UI has some quirks where its non-standard solutions get in the way of usability. The app for you if you are fine with text-only sources, you like its quirky UI and you want a perpetual license for a fair price.

Quirkos is a visually different software, which allows you to have the clarity of your data, to do research of the highest quality

Codes are simple to create, just drag and drop

As an experienced qualitative researcher and QDA software program instructor (http://nevilleliresearch.weebly.com), I have got to say Quikos exceeds my expectations in many ways.

Pros:

  1. Very easy to learn and to teach my teammates and students to use
  2. Visually pleasing platform - like the colours and the changes in size of the bubbles while I code
  3. Being able to attach attributes directly to the sources (more experienced researchers will appreciate this function for deeper analyses)
  4. Exporting the results takes a few clicks in the format of Word or PDF
  5. For my projects in particular, I can invite participants to code in community-based research and process evaluation.

Cons:

  1. Does not support audio and video files at the moment, but if you are working mostly with text, who cares?
  2. No workshops or tutorials offered yet. Have to learn it on your own or contact them for a workshop

After using a couple of qualitative analysis software's, I selected Quirkos and never turned back. Here is the list of best features:

  1. One time licence and you keep it for life!!(no yearly renewals)

  2. Discounted student licence (much cheaper than other softwares)

  3. Very intuitive and visually appealing interface (good for visual learners).

  4. Easy to code and work with. Don't need a huge learning curve.

  5. Very efficient customer support.

  6. Gives the option to export data in MS Word doc. Best for sharing with team members.

  7. Works offline (no data connection needed)

Try it for yourself!!!
