ProfScout

ProfScout finds the professors most likely to reply to a student’s cold research email. Search by field, school, or location, or upload your résumé, and professors are ranked by a reply-fit score instead of by prestige. The score is built from open data (OpenAlex, ORCID, NIH RePORTER, and NSF grants) and weighs how closely their recent work matches yours, how active they are, whether they have recent funding, and how likely they are to reply. Early-career professors with new labs and fresh grants tend to rank higher than famous ones, because they answer.

Each professor comes with recent papers, a verified email address, and context on their lab. ProfScout does not write the email. A short writing guide helps you draft it in your own voice, you send it from your own Gmail, and you mark who replied.

Built for undergraduates, grad applicants, and premeds anywhere in the world who want research with professors in the US, Europe, and beyond. Weekly and monthly plans give unlimited access.
