What is ProcXray?

ProcXray is a native macOS process inspector that goes far beyond Activity Monitor. Built with Swift and SwiftUI for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Key features:

  • Process tree with full parent-child lineage
  • Real-time regex filtering across process names, PIDs, Company, and paths
  • Environment variable inspector with JSON export
  • Code signature verification and entitlements auditing
  • Dylib inspector (loaded dynamic libraries per process)
  • File descriptor and network connection monitoring (open files, listening ports, TCP/UDP)
  • Short-lived process capture with lifecycle highlighting
  • Window Spy picker — point at any window to find its owning process
  • Rich context menu with suspend, kill, signal, and inspect actions
