What is Pixelitor?
Pixelitor is a cross-platform raster graphics editor written in Java. It supports image filters, drawing, layers, multiple undo, etc. Currently its main strength lies in the more than 70 image filters and color adjustments, some of which are unique.

it's really great if you just want to quickly adjust an image. It loads really quickly and is very intuitive.
Pixelitor is powerful with a well designed UI and a surprising amount of practical features, some of which requires a bit of looking around. Especially it has some great and unique functions for texture generation.
Pixelitor 4.30 with its hundreds of filters has experimental features which include smart objects (non-destructive filters) shared layers with external apps, as well as vector layers and gradient fill layers. This software rocks!
