What is Pirika - clean the world?

Pirika is the world's most popular litter collection and social contribution app*. By enabling the users to visualize the act of litter collecting, we can motivate each other through this app to spread the word and make the world a cleaner place.

The pollution caused by litter in nature is a worldwide issue nowadays. This is especially serious for litter leaking to rivers, ocean, and the seas, as they not only destroy the ecosystems but also affect us human beings by polluting our food. 80% of litter in the seas and oceans come from the lands, so picking litter up is an important step in solving litter pollution.

Will you join Pirika, the litter collection app originated from Japan, to help solve this huge problem?

Pirika was created in 2011 by students from Kyoto University secretly, using the equipment in the university to develop the app. When they started their service, they were frequently laughed at - "who will use such a service?" - but the app has grown to be used in over 111 countries, with more than 210,000,000 pieces of litter having been picked up.
