What is Ping Chat?
Ping is a privacy-first chat app built around a @handle you own — no phone number, no email, no real name required to sign up. There's nothing to scrape, sell, or leak.
1:1 DMs are end-to-end encrypted: messages are encrypted on your device and the server only ever stores ciphertext. Disappearing messages start their countdown only after the other person actually sees the message (unseen messages never vanish). Send view-once photos and videos, voice notes, and photos, or use "Live" mode — a conversation that exists only while you're both there and leaves no trace on any server.
It's fully real-time (typing indicators, presence, read receipts), supports group chats, and has block & report built in. No feed, no algorithm, no ads — ever. Runs in any browser and installs as a PWA. Free and fully open source.
