What is Session?
Session is a new breed of private messenger, built on a unique network of user-operated servers spread all over the world. With no central servers, Session can’t leak or sell your data. And with Session’s private routing protocols, your messages are completely anonymous. No one ever knows who you’re talking to, what you’re saying, or even your IP address.
• Fully anonymous account creation: No phone number or email needed to create a Session ID
• Decentralised server network: No data breaches, no central point of failure
• No metadata logging: Session doesn't store, track, or log your messaging metadata
• IP address protection: Device IP addresses are never exposed to the person you're talking to or the servers holding your data
• Closed groups: Private, end-to-end encrypted group chats for up to 10 people
• Secure attachments: Share voice snippets, photos, and files with Session's secure encryption and privacy protections
• Multi-device syncing: One Session ID for your phone and computer
• Free and open-source: Don’t take our word for it — check Session's code yourself
Session is free as in free speech, free as in free beer, and free of ads and trackers. Session is built and maintained by the Loki Foundation, Australia’s first privacy tech not-for-profit organisation. Take back your online privacy today — download Session.

Better than Signal. Not necessary to leave a phone number.
An honest fork of signal, where the whole dev team tries to make it the best they can.
It's a great concept, but Cloudflare is a central point of failure because the entire Oxen & Session infrastructure relies on it. Cloudflare tracks users and de-anonymizes them, and they can shut down the entire project whenever they want.
Cloudflare is not used in the Session network, where is your source for this claim? The only place i know of its use is on the https://getsession.org website, but not inside the Session app itself

Great privacy app running in Oxen Network. It's similar to Tor but in using blockchain and paying for nodes. Great!
Based on Oxen blockchain and Lokinet, all these Australian companies are legally obliged to introduce backdoors to all their encryption layers since 2018.
This is not true, this misconception is answered here https://getsession.org/session-and-australias-laws-to-circumvent-secure-communications

I love that it is privacy friendly, free/open source & secure, (even including IP address protection!) & that we do not have to have or use a cell phone or phone #, or even an email (!) to use this app on a desktop, while it can still be used on a cell/mobile if desired) even syncing across devises by simply using a Session ID (I wonder why more apps don't do this!)...that in itself is rare, especially for an easy to use app. Although it does have a somewhat low attachment limit, in my opinion, on what files can be uploaded in 1 go, (such as pictures, memes, etc.), but at least the attachments are secure & encrypted. It is still a very nice messenger & is even easy to use for the not too tech savvy... It would be very cool if it also had voice calls, but maybe 1 day... so far it does have voice message capabilities & is still a very good open source chat app, (with a descent GUI & UX), for 1 on 1 chats, or small group chats. : )
It does actually have voice calls! You and the recipient just has to enable it in settings, and bam, they will work just like that. They are disabled by default because if enabled, anyone who you message can call you, and then quickly end the call to expose your IP address.
