I've switched from MailChimp due to privacy/AI training concerns. It has the makings of an alternative. For our purposes, a monthly email to about 300 subscribers, we use the first paid-for tier, which is cheap enough. However, it is rather clunky - there are numerous broken links in the sketchy online manual. It turns out that we'd have to pay more for list segmentation, something that is available in MailChimp's free tier. I hope these things can be overcome soon to make it a decent, privacy-orientated alternative. Support, however, was quick and very helpful.
