What is PhotoSpec Passport?

PhotoSpec Passport helps users take passport, visa and ID photos with guidance based on the published requirements for each document. It currently covers 105 official documents across 37 countries.

The requirements were carefully researched using government and other official sources. PhotoSpec Passport shows the applicable source and review information, and clearly indicates when an authority has not published a particular value.

Users can take photos with either the front or rear camera. Voice guidance helps position the camera and the person, and the photo is captured automatically when ready. For self-photography with the front camera, the phone should be placed on a stable stand rather than held by hand.

Photo processing takes place on the device. Photos are not uploaded to the PhotoSpec server, backgrounds are not replaced, and facial features and skin are not artificially retouched. The aim is to help users take the photo correctly in their real surroundings from the start, rather than altering it afterwards.

The app has no ads or subscription. Users pay only when they choose to save a finished photo. Photos can also be arranged for printing at home on 4x6, Letter or A4 paper, or sent and shared when needed.

A separate Pro Headshot mode is available for professional profile photos. PhotoSpec Passport supports 22 locales and includes voice guidance.

No account needed: Photo Checklist (choose a country and document to see the requirements, official source and date checked, with a printable guide), Passport Photo Resizer, Photo File Checker, Print Sheet and Size Converter.

Nothing is charged while you shoot. Try until it is right. Pay only when you save: $3.99 per saved photo — passport, visa, ID or professional headshot. $10 a day, max: Reach the daily limit and the rest of the day is free.
