What is Phind?
Phind is an intelligent answer engine for developers. Focused on helping you solve challenging problems, it uses generative AI to give you the answer you're looking for in seconds instead of hours. Connected to the internet and, optionally, to your codebase, Phind always maintains the right context.
Phind supports multiple searching modes and is powered by two AI large language models: OpenAI's GPT-4 and Phind’s own proprietary model developed in-house. The Phind Model offers unlimited uses while subscribed users of Phind Pro and Plus can also use GPT-4. The Phind Model is generally just as good as GPT-4 for most questions while being faster. The Phind Model has an input token limit of up to 13,000 input tokens; GPT-4 has a limit of up to 32,768 input tokens for Pro users.
Phind's alternate Chat mode helps you build projects from start to finish. Unlike the normal search mode, Chat asks clarifying questions to disambiguate your intent before proceeding with searching and generating code. It's better when you're working with large chunks of code and don't necessarily need Phind to perform a web search (Chat mode is still able to use the internet when it needs to).
