   Personal Historian is not exactly an alternative to genealogy software like Gramps. It does not offer any of the genealogy features. But it expand and specialize on the on the features that detail the life and history of a specific individual. It can be used in complement of genealogy software and services to record in greater details life of relatives, or to write a biography.
