PDF Shaper makes it easy to tailor the content of PDF files. Users can split PDF files into smaller PDFs, extract or delete individual pages, and encrypt and decrypt files. It's just as simple to merge multiple PDF files into a larger file. The software rotates, crops, and normalizes pages, individually or in batch mode. It's simple to convert a PDF file's text to the popular Microsoft Word RTF format, or to convert DOC files to PDF files. Similarly, the software converts PDF pages to standalone images, and vice versa. PDF Shaper does not support any Open Document formats.

I'm using the free version and atm, it's the very best free pdf tool i could find. It's VERY easy and simple to use, the user interface is super clean. It has a whole lot of tools to use on your documents, and as far as i know, this is the most complete free tool i could find! It is also updated quite regularly. Watch out though because the free version installer will try to trick you into installing two other programs which have nothing to do with it.
It performs two tasks, and does them well:
A nice feature is that document lists can be saved, so that after adapting the individual documents one can continue with the task of e.g. joining them into a single PDF.
I give it four stars - not five, as it doesn't recognise the Open Document formats.
