pcon planner is the best alternative to sketchup for architectural house project or design home. It's Free and it have a render engine inside. Very very good software and really the best alternative to sketchup today. For new people who didn't know this software, running.
This seems more like a lead generation scheme for furniture suppliers and the like with a design application tacked on. There are a convoluted mess of registration requirements before you can access any kind of functionality, and while registration is "free", they are committed to maintaining the "exclusivity of the network" by harvesting personal information and barring personal or casual use. If you just want to figure out the best place to put your sofa in your apartment or brainstorm home office setups, this is worthless to you.
