Paperclip allows you to view insightful data and graphs about your site's visitors, while being transparent and ethical by allowing them to view what we know about them.

If you run a physical shop, you can see how well your marketing works by how many people come into it. But with websites, there could be hundreds of different sources of traffic, all over the internet. Maybe someone has tweeted a link to your site, or posted something in a discord server. Maybe that spike in sales is coming from that infographic you posted a few days ago about why people need your business.

You can’t tell any of this normally. But we created Paperclip Analytics. What it does is whenever a user goes to a page, our clever little script can tell all sorts of information about how they got their, and send it back to our server where it waits for you in your site’s dashboard.

Not only can you often tell what site the traffic is coming from, but you can add things like ?src=youtubevid to the end of your link, to identify specific traffic sources, and it will show up on the front page. You can view the times people are visiting your website.

You can even take a look at some information about individual users, like what device they’re using and the web browser they’re viewing your website in.

Paperclip aims to be transparent and ethical. You and your site’s visitors can see data we collect in the user dashboard, and we will never show ads on paperclip. This means that you are the user, not the product, so we do not sell your data to third parties. And because you are our customer, we build our service around you. So tell us what you think about paperclip, we love to hear feedback. If you have any good suggestions, we’ll almost certainly implement them. For example, we recently implemented something at the bottom of the site dashboard, where you can see a summary of your most popular pages, and how many visits, out of the last 50, were to them.
