I personally love Papaly and before going any further, I want to assure everyone reading this comment that this is not a paid comment post or no one has asked me to post the comment in here. I am doing this by myself because I love their service. Papaly cannot and should not be compared to other bookmarking sites like Pocket and Instapaper because the use of Papaly is totally different. Pocket and Instapaper comes in where people want to save bookmark a specific page and save it for offline purpose or for further reference in the future. Papaly can also do that but it is not for page bookmarking. Papaly is all about resource management. In the information overload world, we cannot always keep track of all of our online resources which are important. Papaly gives a way for organizing all our resources at one place. Since I have discovered Papaly, I have made a whole lot of boards dedicated to different types of contents that I like to keep track of for which there are different categories in each board that I have made to organize all of resources in that board. If it weren't Paply, I don't know how could I possibly ever organize my resources in one place. I am not saying that I wouldn't have been able to organize but it would have been mess for sure. I liked it's interface very much. It also didn't had ads till about a week earlier from posting this comment but I can understand that ads are required to keep the service running as the users grow and the requirement of more bandwidth and more storage increases. I really have become a big fan of Papaly and a big thanks to all the developers at Papaly. Hope you continue to grow.
I was jumping of joy when I found this. It seems like the perfect solution to have a nice way to have bookmarks and not in a bloated "social" way.
But after you sort out the mess after importing your bookmarks, the breakage of the trees you notice how few options you really have and how hard the interface if to use.
For instance; most people have their "core set" of bookmarks that are used daily. The solution is to put directories in the bookmark bar but if you happen to many links to fit in the screen it doesn't break to the next column but just continue downward and you have to scroll to use them, nothing you can change in the options.
I do understand you have too make money and a company should be honest and not insert ads in my searches (already have to deal with Google's "better experience") .
Inserting ads covertly is a no-no. This is what spam does.

The notice of discontinuation is not justified. Today (August 2, 2019) I could log in into my 4-5 year old account, use everything as it was before and export my bookmarks to HTML.
Review: good service, but just really slow. That's the most annoying.
Site seems up and running again.
A few days ago, I found Papaly. I wish I had known about it long ago. Overall, it was the best bookmark organizer and such I've ever used. I was able to batch delete and move tons of links within a hour. I wasn't thrilled with the ads. However, I didn't see a lot of them. An adblocker took care of that. Once I organized it all, I converted them into a HTML file, which turned out to be a smart decision. I think the site is gone. I tried to log in numerous times today. The site is down. I did a little bit of research. It seems it has been rumored the site's owners haven't been around for awhile.
papaly is a 5 star product that appears to have been abandoned. The service which I have used since 2015 and still use today is getting slower and slower.
No new updates. The dev's no longer answer in the forums. Adverts popped up. Even on my pro account.
I will use it until I find a solid replacement that integrates into my work flow.
This service makes me ask myself .. how hard would it be for someone to "copy" and take over where they left off? Or buy them out. I don't know. I just wish there was a way to keep it going, or a replacement that can offer what it does.
