What is Panelry?
Panelry builds food labels in the browser for the people who actually need them: cottage food sellers at a farmers market, small bakeries, and anyone who has to put a compliant label on a jar.
The ingredient statement, allergen line and net weight statement are free. A finished FDA Nutrition Facts panel is $9 once, calculated from the USDA's FoodData Central database of roughly 380,000 foods rather than from typed-in guesses.
It handles the parts that catch people out: ingredients in descending order by weight, sub-ingredients in parentheses, the nine major allergens, the rounding rules that differ per nutrient, and the panel formats the FDA accepts.
There is no subscription for a single label. Pro, at $12 a month or $99 a year, is for anyone producing labels regularly.
The site also publishes free guides on label requirements, including net weight statements and the nutrition rounding rules.
