What is pan·map?

pan·map maps the watercolor palettes you actually own. You lay a palette out the way yours looks, as a grid of half and full pans, and fill it with the colors it holds. From then on you can look up any color by name, number or pigment and see which palette holds it and in which position.

Ten brand catalogs are built in, covering seven manufacturers, so you pick a color by its number and its name, pigments and properties come along with it. One manufacturer gave permission to use their original swatch images, so those colors show the real paint instead of a flat patch of color. Paints from brands that aren't included you enter as custom colors.

Before buying a set you can paste its color numbers into “Match a list”, which splits them into what your palettes already hold and what they don't. The missing ones export as a CSV shopping list.

There's no account and no sign-up. Palettes stay in your own browser, and a palette you share travels inside the link or the QR code itself, so it never reaches a server. Once a device has loaded the app it works offline. The whole collection downloads as a file that loads back in on another device. The interface is in English and German.
