What is PageWright?

PageWright is a Windows code editor for editing websites right on the server, over FTP, FTPS or SFTP, or in a local folder. Open a page, change it, save it, and it's live: no build tools, no Git, no command line. It was built as a modern replacement for Microsoft Expression Web, which Microsoft discontinued.

It uses the Monaco editor, the engine behind VS Code, and adds live preview, a backup before every save, find and replace across the whole site, a broken-link checker and HTML/CSS validation. It also has AI chat with your own API key, SEO and GEO audits, and an MCP server for AI coding tools such as Claude Code.

One-time purchase. No subscription, no account, no cloud.
