Comments and Reviews
The only bad thing about PageStream is the frustration you will feel after acclimating and becoming spoiled rotten to its simplicity and intuitive ease of use, then trying to figure out how to use DTP features found in other apps that claim to be "intuitive". i.e. Adobe, Corel, etc. I'm not trying to promote any product; just being honest. I've heavily used software from Adobe, Corel, SoftLogic and many others since 1994 and I know.
I like PageStream because ist's easy to use, fast and lightweight.
The setup file for the current version (5.1.2 for 64-bit Windows in 2022) ist just 25 MB small.
Negative: PageStream doesn't have footnotes and endnotes and it can't open current QuarkXPress or InDesign documents.
Positive: Is does offer frames, shapes, tables, tables of contents etc. and gives you much control over typography.
You can use PageStream for greeting cards, brochures, and books.
Easy to use if you're familiar with PageMaker and/or QuarkXpress -- much cheaper!
I knew PGS on Amiga in the 80's. It was a great application in its field. I just downloaded the trial version on Mac OS 10.10. Catastrophe !! Very very slow. Apparently, development has stopped since 2010 ... Too bad!
