What is Owl Carousel 3?

Owl Carousel 3 is an independent, community-maintained continuation of the familiar touch-enabled jQuery carousel plugin. It preserves the established $('.owl-carousel').owlCarousel() API, event names, markup, and CSS class names so existing integrations can upgrade with minimal application changes.

Owl Carousel 3 is compatible with jQuery 1.8.3 through 4. Its test matrix covers jQuery 1.8.3, 2.2.4, 3.7.1, and 4.0.0, both with and without the matching jQuery Migrate release.

Version 3 is a modernization release. The browser-facing plugin API and its owl-* CSS classes remain compatible with Owl Carousel 2. The project now uses a current npm build and browser test stack, and the shipped Sass sources use Dart Sass modules.
