What is Overplus?

Overplus is a Windows companion app for Dota 2 that changes how the game looks and adds match analytics on top of it. The project has been running since May 2020 and has more than 30,000 users; its VPK-based predecessor dates back to 2015.

Cosmetics

  • Hero skins, arcanas, gems, couriers, wards, terrains, emblems, TI effects and loading screens.
  • Interface and audio layers: HUDs, announcer packs, kill-sound packs, music packs and emoticons.
  • World replacements: taverns, creeps, Roshan, weather and river tint.
  • Equipped cosmetics can be made visible to other users of the app, not only to you.

Analytics

  • AI build assistant and AI hero-pick assistant for the draft.
  • Meta analyzer for hero trends and a player analyzer for match history.

Dota Plus

  • Unlocked Dota Plus functionality and hero level switching.

What it is not Overplus is third-party software, not a Valve product, and not a replacement for a Dota Plus subscription: official rewards, challenges and events stay inside the Valve client. Using third-party software goes against Valve's user agreement, so the decision to run it is the user's own and no guarantees are offered.

History worth knowing In February 2024 a ban wave affected more than 100,000 accounts connected to the app. The cause was not cosmetics: the app then exposed opponents' hero pools during the ten-second hero ban phase, a phase Valve removed from the game in patch 7.35d. That feature was removed from the app, and since then the project keeps to cosmetics and data that is publicly available to everyone. There have been no new waves since.

Pricing Subscriptions range from one day to 180 days, and a seven-day trial is available through a promo code.
