What is OPUS Suite?

OPUS is a self-hosted library for a household's music, films, series and photographs. It is three apps: Library decides what is worth having and whether it arrived, Player plays it, and Downloads fetches it from the download clients behind one interface.

An album counts only when it is complete at the quality you asked for, and a film only when its subtitles pass your policy, checked with ffprobe rather than guessed from the release name. Photos are read in place and never copied or moved. Faces are grouped by likeness period by period, and you tie the periods into one person, so the baby at the christening and the girl at graduation are the same daughter. Each member has a private vault encrypted with their own key; the server holds none.

Playback is chosen by the device: on the TV a ten-foot app with hardware decoding, on a phone the same screens send a film to the TV or music to the DAC, DSD included. It remembers where each person stopped and skips intros and end credits.

Runs with Docker Compose; face recognition needs an Intel GPU. Android TV and phone apps, interface in English and Croatian. Source-available under PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0: free for personal use, not OSI open source. Demo: https://demo-opus.boskovic.biz
