How does OceanHero fight plastic pollution?

OceanHero helps the operation of plastic collection hubs in areas with the highest degree of pollution through our partner Plastic Bank. Often, those areas lack any waste management. This is the case because those areas are often impoverished, and the required infrastructure is lacking.

Collectors can return ocean-bound plastic for money, sanitation, or electricity. This gives plastic a value and helps stop pollution at the source.

Additionally, together with our partner Trash Waste Solutions, we build micro-recycling plants in remote areas with limited waste management support. This allows the local community to recycle plastic locally. The best part? OceanHero creates building bricks from the collected plastic. Showing people that plastic can be a useful resource.

Finally, we work with Waste Free Oceans. This organization equips fishers with special nets to catch plastic in highly polluted harbor areas.

OceanHero does not store or track your searches.
