What is numwiz?

My 8-year-old was struggling with times tables last year. I tried a bunch of math apps but they were either full of ads, required accounts, or let kids just guess without understanding what they're doing. So I built NumWiz - a Progressive Web App that practices all 4 basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and requires kids to show their reasoning step by step.

What makes it different:

  • Kids can't just guess the answer - they need to show HOW they got there
  • Works offline (installable PWA)
  • 3 languages: English, Spanish, Polish
  • No accounts, no ads, no tracking
  • Completely free

I also wrote a blog with practical guides for parents: how to teach times tables, bridging through tens, teaching division, etc.
