Asymetrical cryptographic keys enabling sovereign digital identities to people protecting them from censorship.

For devs it means you can build a social app without dealing with authentifications, passwords or account. Having a dumb relay is enough but now you have to find a way to manage spam :) It's still early but it one of the most amazing thing I discover in social media since the Fediverse and this has the potential to go much much much further !

What is nostr?

The simplest open protocol that is able to create a censorship-resistant global "social" network once and for all.

It doesn't rely on any trusted central server, hence it is resilient; it is based on cryptographic keys and signatures, so it is tamperproof; it does not rely on P2P techniques, therefore it works.

To use it you need to use any compatible client like the followings (more in the making), periodically check nostr.net which keeps a curated list of clients. Here are some I like:

nostr.rocks - Twitter-style interface (Branle) anigma.io - Telegram-style interface astral.ninja - Fork of Branle w/ different UI & global feed damus.io - Twitter-style iOS client
