What is NodeLane Comics?

NodeLane Comics is an open-source browser extension for reading and organizing comics, with optional image translation.

Open CBZ/ZIP, CBR/RAR, PDF and DRM-free EPUB/MOBI files; browse Google Drive and OPDS libraries; or import comics from supported websites. Read with continuous scrolling or single-page layouts, adjust reading direction and appearance, and resume from your saved position. Previously cached chapters and local originals can be read offline.

Translate pages as you read, compare translations with original images, or switch back without losing your place. Use the official cloud translation service or connect your own manga-translator-ui instance. Website image and selection translation are also available where page access allows. EPUB translation applies to embedded bitmap images, not full ebook text translation.

Core reading features are free. Reading local originals does not require a NodeLane account. Official cloud translation requires internet access and sign-in, with a free allowance and optional paid plans. Self-hosted translation does not require a NodeLane account; its hardware and service costs are separate. Translations can contain errors. Read and translate only content you have the right to use.

The project source is licensed GPL-3.0-only. Third-party code, models, fonts and comic artwork retain their respective licenses.
