Nisus Writer Pro

Nisus is scriptable, has a powerful macro feature and allows multipart selection. Nisus was originally written for multilingual academics who need to have many different languages in the same document. It has a powerful twofold text expanding feature: auto-correction, based on the language you are using, and glossaries. Glossaries contain abbreviations with corresponding entries, which can be as long as you want. These entries can contain (formatted) text, (formatted) text boxes, images, hyperlinks and tables.

You can use any number of keys to execute menu commands, e.g. press Command key, then FAU for "Find All Uppercase words." Integrates well with Bookends. Nisus can easily exchange data with File Maker Pro or any other scriptable application. With macros you can instantly convert Fahrenheit into Celsius or change "Last name, First Name" to "First Name Last Name" in a selection or in the whole document. Use the random function to create a vocabulary trainer. The possibilities with Nisus are sheer endless… Also very helpful forum.
